In the early scenes we see Maximus is a black and silver cuirass (the leather and metal breastplate). He is still wearing it in the scene <a href="http://www.wheretoinvestnow.net" alt="Where To Invest Money" target="_blank">where</a> he is to be executed in the forest. When he escapes from the place of his planned execution, Maximus flees from Germania to Spain (as others have correctly noted, travelling hundreds of miles in seemingly a few days at most), arriving wearing only a brown smock. Apparently, he has lost his cuirass some<a href="http://www.wheretoinvestnow.net" alt="Where To Invest Money" target="_blank">where</a> between Germania and Spain. However, Proximo later gives him that same cuirass, and Maximus identifies it to young Luicius as being his. How did Proximo get his hands on it? |
