Summary:
It's a gag
Detail :
I've seen this complaint a lot, so I figure this is probably the place to set things straight: The C: prompt in Office Space is there on purpose, as is the fact that in some shots of the screen, some of the windows are actually using an MS Windows GUI. And in a later scene, data is saved to an A: drive. Now, obviously a hybrid computer could not have been created by accident, and was most likely purposely put into the movie to further the idea that Office Space takes place in a fairly generic world, also evidenced by those nifty "USA" license plates.
