We see Matilda squeeze her eyes shut and various scenes where her parents and teachers yelled at her play out in the flashback. In one flashback, Matilda's mother is doing her hair in the mirror and mutters that she thinks there's something wrong with Matilda to her husband while Matilda is seen in the reflection of the mirror. But in the actual scene earlier in the movie, Matilda leaves the room before her mother says it. |
