Nitpick Description

Submitted by Nitpicker : selfdo
Movie : Kill Bill: Vol. 1 - 2003
Nitpick Category : Other
Nitpick Number : 61066
Approximate time of Nitpick : first 10-15 minutes
Summary : A four year rides the bus unattended?
Detail : Vernita Green's daughter, being four, is a PRESCHOOLER. No California school district, especially not Los Angeles Unified, would allow a preschooler to ride the bus and get off without her parent/guardian being present. All schools require a parent/guardian/day care provider to be present at the point where physical cusotdy is transferred, whether at the school or at the school bus stop, for preschoolers. So Vernita would be out there already, and would see Black Mamba get out of the yellow truck.

It is entirely possible that vivica fox's character walks out to get her daughter when she sees the bus come. Black Mamba and her had time to fight before they even see the bus pull up to the house.

The commenters statement has nothing to do with the original nitpicker's find. The nitpick was that the bus shouldn't have let the kid off the bus without a parent or guardian present there to pick her up for safety reasons and to avoid lawsuits. Yes, Copperhead (Vivica Fox) could have been waiting outside for a moment and then stepped back into the house before Black Mamba got there but that doesn't justify the bus driver leaving a four year old unattended on the street. The nitpick is valid.

This should be refuted. Just because the rules state that a parent or guardian has to be present does not mean the bus driver will abide by this rule. Maybe the driver saw Vernitas car in the driveway and figured she would let it slide just today.

Nikki gets dropped off by the bus just across the street from her house. If my memory serves me correctly the bus doesn't actually drive off until Nikki is quite close to her house. Maybe the busdriver supervised her until sure she would reach her home safely and then drove off. Its highly probable.
