Davison = Flint
by DavidBowman Tuesday, January 22, 2008 12:29 PM
There's no substantive difference between Davison and Flint. One is a suburb of the other, with Flint being the more dominant & well-known of the two. The center of the suburb Davison is within 5 miles of Flint's border. Moore is substantially correct to call Flint his hometown, since he grew up in one of the small areas immediately adjacent to the much-better-known Flint, Michigan.
Davison is NOT Flint

Davison, MI is a town of its own. It is NOT part of Flint. I am from Weston,MA just outside Boston. When I talk to people outside MA I say I'm from Boston because no one outside MA knows where Weston is, but most know where Boston is, it makes the conversation easier. If Moore was stating he was from Flint for that reason I guess it would be OK. But Moore tries to be portrayed as a blue-collar, Mill working, Flint native. That is not true at all. He is from Davison, MI a lilly white, well to-do community. Go talk to the people from Flint and see if they think Davison is just like Flint! Is Compton, CA just like Beverly Hills??? Their close too. How about Harlem and Manhattan? Go talk to some one from South Boston and they will tell you I'm from Weston NOT Boston.
