To add to that: Odan (why just one name?) couldn't be transported. Was that a Trill deficiencey? Dax seems to have no problem with it. Or was it just Odan's transportophobia? Of course, since it was a matter of life and death for him (them?), one would think that he would have swallowed his fear.

Yeah, and Dax has survived more than a little shuttle console blowing up as well. Maybe it has something to do with why Odan (hosts, male and female) and Jadzia and all the DS9 Trills look differetn (Odan has a big forehead, Jadzia has spots). I know the real reson for the change was that Tery Farrell didn't look good with a big forehead but maybe the Odan Trills have other biological differences from spotty Trills that still enables them to be hosts, be they're not as stable as the others.

Aside from this, Odan was amourously involved with Crusher over three hosts -- something that'd get him persona non grata status on TRill if it was any more than a fling. And the Trill hosts looked different back then -- the DS9 Trill look more like the Kriosians from TNG "A Perfect Mate" than the Odan-type Trill.
