Nitpick Description

Submitted by Nitpicker : Anonymous
Series : Twilight Zone, The
Episode : Long Live Walter Jameson
Nitpick Category : Plot
Nitpick Number : 2203
Approximate time of nitpick : right at the end
Summary : No prison can hold me!
Details : \n If Mr Jameson is in fact indestructable why doesnt he just try and escape from prison? It may take years to do it right but he definately has nothing to lose and plenty of time. Or he could kill a bunch of inmates and guards and hope he gets the death sentence he wants.

What are you talking about, prison? Walter Jameson isn't indestructible. He dies in the end of the episode! We assume he is either shot by his estranged wife Lorette or dies of some kind of guilt after shooting her. At any rate, he ages rapidly and turns to dust. So no, no prison could hold him, but he doesn't need to escape from any prison, either.

It sounds to me that the original nitpick is referring to the episode titled "Escape Clause," in which Walter Bedeker (David Wayne) sells his soul for immortality. At the end of the episode, imprisoned for his wife's murder, he exercises the escape clause he had negotiated, and drops dead of a heart attack. "Long Live Walter Jameson" starred Kevin McCarthy as a man who lived for many centuries without aging. Given the title and the similar names of the characters, I can see how easy it would be to confuse them.
