Nitpick Description

Submitted by Nitpicker : Anonymous
Series : Stargate SG-1
Episode : Children of the Gods (2)
Nitpick Category : Other
Nitpick Number : 2648
Approximate time of nitpick : 1/4 of the way through
Summary : Clairvoyant Camoflauge Selection
Details : \n When the Stargate team goes to Abydos, they dress up on desert-style camo. Naturally, this is because they know the terrain and anticipate it.
\r\n
\r\n Same episode, they go to Chulak. Having never sent a probe through, nor have any idea of what the terrain is going to be like (for all they know, they may assume these aliens actually prefer desert environments), SG-1 and SG-2 are nonetheless perfectly suited for Chulak's temperate climes, being dressed up in green. Inexplicably they knew beforehand that they would need green camo now, despite the fact that the only other planet they have visited so far demanded a desert uniform.

All though SG-1 has never been to Chulak nor did they send a probe through, they had no need. Tealc Has lived on Chulak for many years and i'm sure he knew what the temperate climes would be like.

I retract my comment in my desire to put my stargate sg1 knowelge to the test and out of my own exciment for believing to have found a comment I could correct I did not pay any attention into the name of the episode in which this comment reflects and at that point in time tealc was not a part of the team.

Actually, they gated Chulak before meeting Tealc...so the nit is a valid one. They didn't meet/interact with Tealc until the 'dungeon' scene.

Pretty Accurate, Actually

In reality, the standard field uniform is green camouflage; any team entering an unknown environment would use the default green uniform, so this is less "claivoyance" and more realism on the part of the show.
